The Intrepid With the golden horizon at its bow, the Intrepid makes its way through the Great Western Ocean, the crystal blue water around it reflecting the magnitude and power of the ship. It glides through the water, cutting through it like a knife through butter. With no sign of land in sight, the Intrepid navigates on faith of her captain who leads it to Windham. The ship has room for twenty passengers in its hull, along with room for crew enough to man it. It has weathered many moons, but shows no signs of being hindered by its age. Its hull is painted white on the bottom, and shines against the deep blue of the ocean that it calls home. The sides of the ship are natural wood colored, and sparkle with the polish put on them to keep mold from festering. Its main sail is seperated into three squares, vertically stacked. The sails are swolen with the wind that keeps the ship on its course. The jib sail, a giant triangular sail in front of the main sail, is dwarfed in comparison, but still stands as tall as three men. The deck on the boat is bare of everything except the essentials, leaving much room for crewmen and passengers. The wheel is on an elevated platform above the rest of the deck near the stern where the captain stands. There are wooden stairs connecting these two surfaces, and where the deck rises, a door leads underneath to the cabins, kitchen, and storage rooms. All Are Welcome

{name:Rayce#|#picture:5}The balmy breeze blew gently, and the sound of waves were framed by the cries of the sea-gulls. The wind ruffled Rayce's hair, and she smiled. Ah, the everlasting beauty of the sea.
Rayce was on board the Intrepid, a magnificent boat that was really quite beautiful. She had gotten on board the boat on a lark, and was impressed. She had never been on such a beautiful boat, and was appreciating every single moment. The clear, iridescent azure shades of the sea, the wonderful people on board... oh, and the sunsets!
Today, Rayce wasn't decked in her Gothic outfit. She had dressed herself up in a white tube, with baby pink floral designs on it, and matching white shorts, with a red sarong, with white and pink floral designs over the shorts. She was going Hawaiian, and to end that picture, she was in white flip-flops.
A pair of shades on top of her hair, she looked out to sea. She had gotten a glass of peach tea from the kitchen, and slowly drank. All the while she began thinking.
This is the life...

{name:Filendie Garren#|#picture:2}Breathing in the musty smell of damp wood, Filendie sat on a stool in the shade near the opening to the deck. He didn't flinch as people rushed back and forth along the deck, hopping and skipping over and around his outstretched Staff. The people who did knock it were rewarded with scowls and grunts to ward them away and to not do it again. The boat rocked gently back and forth, leaving his stomach almost churning and almost feeling queasy. When there was a slightly bigger rocking motion on the floor, he shifted his feet to keep his balance.
He slept soundly enough on the long journeys and some of the meals were not so bad, although when they were bad they were really bad, sometimes he wouldn’t punish a pig with the horrid tastes that clung to the back of his throat and fouled his breath. There wasn’t much to do other than relax; he couldn’t practice his magic out in the open or in a small confined room. He also daren’t read any of his arcane books through fear of people seeing them.
He wished he could breathe in the fresh air but escape the blearing sun at the same time but for days he had one or the other, Fresh air or shade. He always stood out on deck when it rained and the seas weren’t too violent, he wanted the fresh feeling and the drops to wash over him and take of the surface layer of salt and muck though it hadn’t rained for a few days now and he was growing more and more self conscious.
He stood and stretched his legs before returning to the stool and watched as someone hopped over his staff for the third time that day. The first time the man came running past him he fell right over the staff and ripped it from his hands. Filendie had nearly backhanded the man but he let him be after he returned the staff to his hand and apologised.
Was this the life…?

{name:Rayce#|#picture:5}Just staring at the blue yonder was tiring. It made Rayce feel so ... blue. Yet it was relaxing, though Rayce as the wind continued ruffling her hair and her sarong. She continued gazing at the sea, the glass held loosely in her hand.
"OI!" someone yelled, and Rayce was roughly shoved; the glass fell from her hand and disappeared under the foam and blueness of the sea.
One...two...three...calm yourself...
"What's going on?" she said, turning around.
"Someone nabbed my gold!" a man said, panting slightly. He was dressed in a merchant's wealthy clothes, and was slightly overweight. Rayce rolled her eyes. Hoping this wasn't something stupid, she asked a few more questions.
Finally getting information, she shook her head and let the wind ruffle it some more. Then, she undid the sarong, and held it up to the wind. Smiling, she let it go. The sarong flew away, carried by the wind's gentle caress.
Now, to find that silly thief...

{name:Idril#|#picture:7}Idril felt like she had been on this ship for to long now. She was wearing a long dark blue dress with a black cloak. The hood up hiding her face though her icy blue eyes could still see everything. She went up on the deck and stood near the edge. Idril could feel people stare at her. Her eyes just gazed down at the waters hitting the ship.
Her nails tapped the side as the the sun came out a bit more from behind the clouds. Her feet started to get a bit cold since she was wearing no shoes at the moment. The wind felt so good, it had been such a long time since Idril was near water. A part of her just wanted to jump in and feel it all over her. But she needed to get to the next town to see if she could make some money.
A few kids on the ship were messing around snickering about Idril. They sounded like they were in their teenage years. One of them started to step closer towords her, and all she did was smile. Then he pulled back her hood and her long white hair started to blow in the wind. She turned to face them her icy eyes looking right into theirs.
They just stared at her like they had never seen an elf. Soon they ran away laughing a bit, but some looking scared. Idril started to walk along the deck. Her feet feeling the moisture in the wood. She let herself be taken to a part of the ship where people didn't usually go. Her eyes spotted a box and she sat down and closed her eyes just thinking about where she was going next.

{name:Filendie Garren#|#picture:2}Filendie glanced over onto the deck; a man clad in black was leaning on the edge, tapping the side rail irritably. He seemed rather caught up in there own thoughts like everyone past a certain age was. Kids had now appeared on deck and Filendie rolled his eyes the only way I like them is cooked gently in a stew He thought. He was joking of course; he wasn’t a cannibal or a murderer. The kids then suddenly looked scared and some laughed at something. He followed there gazes until he laid his eyes back on the man looking at them. But it wasn’t a man; it was a woman and not just any woman, an elf.
His eyes widened in surprise. Fortune shine down on him, an elf here on the same boat as him, he had only ever seen one elf and that one was being ran out of town. Although when he had caught up with him he was already leagues away. Elves could smell remnants of magic but he wasn’t sure if they could tell if it was Dar Magic or not so he had to be careful; he couldn’t risk being identified as a Dark Mage as mush as she couldn’t be identified as an Elf, one of a hidden race that slaughtered the Nyphai. Although unlike most people he knew what an elf was and where they lived, he had never found it of course as it moved all the time but it would have been a wondrous sight to behold.
As he stood up he flipped his hair back; the glinting mane brushing the back of his neck. He had been mistaken for one a few times. He was described as beautiful, a haunting beauty like many of the Elven people had. The only proof he had that he was human was his age and his ears were normal. He picked up his staff in his usual iron grip, subconsciously caressing the cold metal with his gloved thumb as he would a lover’s hand as he started to climb the steps onto the deck.
He made a direct line towards her but turned at the last second deliberately so she would notice him and leant up against the rail near where she was sat. They were out of hearing rang from most people but he had to talk fast, as two people shrouded in black were very suspicious “How is the floating city these days” He said to her clearly. He wanted to know why she wasn’t there but that question would have to wait until after small talk “You know you’re brave to show your lineage to publicly” He said to her, twisting to look at her and gestured to her ears “I know what you are”

{name:Idril#|#picture:7}It was so peaceful for a while. Just hearing the wind, and the water. Her long white hair blowing in her face. Soon her head started to sway along it helped her relax. Until of course she heard some footsteps heading towards her. A man started to speak to her though he seemed surprized that she would show herself to anyone. He wanted to know why she wasn't in the floating city.
At first Idril had said nothing and didn't want to. She put her hood up to cover her face. Why is this man talking to me..nevermind that I don't need to talk. Most people will just go away.. She thought though she noticed he was going no where at the moment. Her icy eyes rolled then shifted her head toward him.
"They don't need me in the floating city..and I'm very sure that I don't need them." Idril said then smiled a bit. "It wasn't my fault those younge kids wanted to see what I look like. Most people now a days haven't seen an elf on their own." Her voice was very soft like the wind was. So maybe he hadn't heard her, but she wasn't going to repeat herself to him at all. "And I would hope most people could tell what I am without my hood."
She laughed a bit then stood up. "And here's two questions for you sir. Why did you come over to talk to me, and is it just me or are those two men over there stareing at us?" She asked him lifting her head far enough so her eyes met his.

{name:Filendie Garren#|#picture:2}After he had said his piece the woman sat there, unmoving as if he hadn’t said a word. He kept looking at her, his eyes drilling into her for answers. Eventually she shifted uncomfortably and spoke "They don't need me in the floating city… and I'm very sure that I don't need them."[/b] She said simply. An elf that thinks of themselves, now there’s a rare thing he thought. "It wasn't my fault those young kids wanted to see what I look like. Most people now a days haven't seen an elf on their own."[/b] She said "And I would hope most people could tell what I am without my hood."[/b] She finished.
She spoke so softly it was hard for him to hear but he heard everything she had to say. Looking over his shoulder he made to move to try and hide the fact he was looking to see if indeed there were a few people staring at them. They looked at him staring back at them and hurriedly started talking with one another again, taking there gazes off of them.
“Not anymore” He said “And where have you been all these years, I must be a fraction of your age and even I feel wiser than you…” He said plainly, not stopping to see if he had offended her “…It’s not just most people that haven’t seen an elf before, it’s ninety-nine percent of the population. I am willing to bet that hardly anyone on this boat knows, nor anyone at the place we are destined for, nor in the towns and villages around that one” He said, making it obvious how rare to see an elf was. For a moment he felt a twinge of guilt, maybe he was making her feel lonely in the world of no other elves but herself. But the feeling he had was quickly gone, his heart had become colder than most peoples and he hardly felt most emotions, only the basic ones.
“You should hope no one can tell what you are without the hood; it’s a wise move putting it back up. To people who know what Elf’s are, to them you are the murderers of the Nyphai…” He spoke with no emotion and when her shocking blue eyes met his, he stared back with the emotionless Black irises that his magic had corrupted. It almost looked like one huge pupil, one all seeing eye that had been coloured from the ink off of the very pages he studied magic from.
“… The reason I speak to you is because you are an elf and I have a question to ask. I may feel wiser than you but I know I am not…” He said, he wanted to know something and would butter her up as much as she wanted, just to know what he sought for. “… Part with me some of your knowledge and tell me, can you smell corrupted Magic’s?” He said, he hoped this question wouldn’t give him away but if she could smell them, then surly she could have smelt him from the other side of the boat. He was the most powerful dark mage he had ever encountered and he used it all the time.

{name:Idril#|#picture:7}Idril took a few steps forward trying her hardest to ignore this man. Wiser..he has no idea.. She thought to herself shaking her head back and forth. "I'm probley one of the few elf's that don't hang with their own kind. I'm left to fend for myself and it's been like that all my life." She said turning back him with a slight smile.
"Oh if that's the case if people hate my kind I should be more open with what I am.." Before she said anything else she removed her hood and shook out her hair. "I had no part with killing anyone. And I wouldn't bother wasteing my time to kill someone unless there was a very good reason."
Her voice got a bit louder but not by much. When he stared back at her she felt a sudden chill near her. Idril wrapped herself in her cloak. Then he asked her a question. “… The reason I speak to you is because you are an elf and I have a question to ask. I may feel wiser than you but I know I am not…” He said, he wanted to know something and would butter her up as much as she wanted, just to know what he sought for. “… Part with me some of your knowledge and tell me, can you smell corrupted Magic’s?”[/i]
Then she just kept smiling. "Maybe we can..or maybe we can't. Wouldn't you just love to know huh?" Idril kind of had an idea now that maybe he did use dark magic. Since he asked why else would he. "Give me a good reason to tell you.." She said turning to face him with a smirk on her face. Idril could feel some dark magic but her skill wasn't really tuned up. "By the way strange sir..my name is Idril." She said just standing there letting the wind blow through her hair covering her face though she could still see him.

{name:Filendie Garren#|#picture:2}The elf took her hood down again, showing her heritage out in the open for anyone to see “Foolish” He said, the word barely audible as he breathed it out in a long sigh "Maybe we can… or maybe we can't. Wouldn't you just love to know huh?"[/b] She said, almost taunting him "Give me a good reason to tell you.."[/b] She said, not freely giving out information. Filendie just looked at her from the corner of his eye “I don’t mind either way, but of course I do want to know, I’m only in the pursuit of knowledge that no one knows. Is that such a bad thing?” He said, lying right thought his teeth but he was a good liar, he had had a lot of practice at it.
Tossing his long black hair out and away from his face he turned full on to the wind. It was getting rather windy, so much that his blowing mane didn’t even brush the back of his neck. He winced slightly, the weather had been getting increasingly worse this time of year, he didn’t know what it was but he guessed it was the corruption of the land by the dark one, that was all he could think of. Normally when it happened he would use the power that he had to change it to something he liked better. The ability to do this was out of reach by so many Dark Mages but he could do it, aswell as many other godly things but this was one of the bigger things he could do without much effort.
He would have gone back to his room or to a secluded part of the boat to cast his magic’s but now he knew an elf was on board he couldn’t risk the chance of them smelling the magic, He didn’t know if they could smell the differences between magic’s but he knew they could do it. And if they smelt it then questions would be asked. He not only had Corrupted Magic’s, he also had the natural power of elemental Ice. For some reason the land had chosen him as an Elemental. Sometimes he wondered how a dark mage as himself could possibly have been chosen, but he didnt use it all that much. He knew they could smell this but somehow this woman hadn’t picked it up. Maybe she was still a youngling but that would be found out later. If she was alive for him to ask that was… but he would only need to resort to those measures if she found out what he was and acted on it.

{name:Idril#|#picture:7}Idril just laughed at him. She read the words from his mouth Foolish.. It repeated in her mind. "I'm so foolish to show what I am. If I was supposed to be scared I wouldn't be a rouge now would I?" She said still walking about on the deck. “I don’t mind either way, but of course I do want to know, I’m only in the pursuit of knowledge that no one knows. Is that such a bad thing?”[/b] Idril didn't trust him no matter what. She kept getting a cold feeling near him.
If only I would of kept up trying to since magic..oh well trust my feelings.. Then she looked towards the door leading below deck. "And again here we are. I'm not telling you because I don't trust you. I may be nice but i'm not stupid." Idril said rolling her eyes.
"Of course I could tell you since you might be all alone on the ship and really just want to learn." Then she started to laugh at what she had said. Soon she grabbed the door and went down below deck. All she had on her face now was a smirk. Idril new that he really wanted to, but she wasn't going to tell him a thing. As she walked down the hall people just looked at her. Her feet softly slapping the floors.

Valdeen grimaced when she laughed at him, a mooching laughter that taunted his very nature "And again here we are. I'm not telling you because I don't trust you. I may be nice but I’m not stupid… Of course I could tell you since you might be all alone on the ship and really just want to learn."[/b] she said and Valdeen grimaced at the other laugh that was to follow this statement, loud and mocking. Then she was heading for the door with what he thought was a grin.
I didn’t say you were scared, you don’t have to be scared to be foolish He thought bitterly. Not having a chance to say it to her face no wonder they don’t last long down here, they think they are better than everyone else. His bitterness was getting the better of him again, this was normally the case. He really wanted that information; he really did so much it hurt.
Clenching his teeth and tightening his grip on his staff with frustration he straightened from the rail and started to walk. best me will she, HA she wont best me, shes an elf and I know one way to get her attention He swivelled and headed for the back of the ship. If elves could smell magic, then this would be an aroma they could smell from a mile away and further. Being an experienced dark mage he could smell dark magic’s himself and he was the only dark mage on board.
Reaching the back he firmly tapped a few kids until they ran off and then he was alone. He took one last look around before squaring his stance and holding his staff in both hands. The wind was still quite strong and black clouds were blowing far in the distance to the west, this wouldn't be too hard because he didn’t need to create anything, just move it and enhance it.
He closed his eyes and began to chant
Amin Yala’ lle en’ vilya, (I Summon you Air) Amin Yala’ lle en’ alu, (I Summon you Water) Aa' i'sul nora lanne' lle (Let the wind fill the Sails) Aa’ i’sul Ama poldora nora alu’ lle(Let Strength fill The Waves)
He said, repeating the same archaic words over and over, saying them faster and faster until the words filled the air without him saying a word. The chant echoed on the wind like a whisper through air. Valdeen opened his eyes and looked at the sky, his eyes clouded and turned completely black as the crystal on his staff gave off a sickening black glow streaked with red. The wind picked up fast and clouds started to shift in there direction un-naturally fast. As they reached the boat the rain pelted down onto the deck and a storm started to emerge. Thew boat started to lurch violently so he gripped onto the side of the boat and waited.
From underneath his hair whipping in the fierce winds he wore a smile that didn’t reach his eyes. It was there he waited for the elf; surly she couldn’t resist the feeling of pure corrupted magic, if she could feel it she would probably be choking on it by now. Judging the storm bad enough he let go of the conjuring, letting his eyes turn back to normal, the smell of Dark Magic’s still hung in the air and Valdeen breathed it in like a morning’s freshness.

{name:Idril#|#picture:7}Idril walked around knowing she had gotten to him. It gave her a slight pleasure to do that to him. And at the same time she felt a bit bad, but of course not to much. Soon she felt something odd.
Could it be that man up there.. Her eyes closed and just listened to everything around her. She felt the hair on her neck start to stand up on end. Idril ran up the stairs back on the deck.
She looked around then saw the strange man. He looked like he enjoyed what he was doing. Before she knew it though the wind was stronger then before. Her hair was flying everywhere. And her cloak had come undone and almost got away but she had caught it in time. Idril just looked at him for a few moments, and then started to take some steps toward him. But as she got closer she felt like the wind was being knocked out of her. Bit by bit, but her skill in sencing magic weren't up to some of the other's.
By the time she got to him, she was gasping a bit for some air. Then she just glared at him. "You know your a lot of trouble for a plain old human. Though from this nice little disply of skill I can see that your a mage." She said yelling a bit just to even hear herself from all the noise. "So you most likely have your answer now, so just stop benig such a child. All because I out did you in wits." She said laughing a bit then having a smirk on her face. Soon she slipped on the deck from the wind blowing so fast, and the deck being all wet from the rain. And her hair also was sticking a bit to her face.
"Your indangering all these people are you willing to risk everyone's life just for something very stupid." Idril said with a bit of anger in her voice now. Though she was still laying on her stomache looking at him with her cold icy eyes. This man was becoming a real problem for her, and maybe the rest of the people on this ship.

{name:Fiendie Garren#|#picture:2}Filendie waited, an iron grip on the rail beside him, stopping him from tumbling over the edge of the ship. Then the elf from before walked up on deck and looked right at him, Filendie didn’t move a muscle as she struggled to get her footing and choked on the very air she breathed so you can my dear He thought, his question had now been answered.
"You know your a lot of trouble for a plain old human. Though from this nice little display of skill I can see that you’re a mage"[/b] She said shouting into the roar of the storm. "So you most likely have your answer now, so just stop being such a child. All because I out did you in wits."[/b] His grin faded as she had a cocky smile plastered on her face. Then she slipped and fell on the deck but managed to stay on the ship.
"Your endangering all these people are you willing to risk everyone's life just for something very stupid."[/b] She said, not even seeming to realise what danger she was in. Dark mages were feared all over the world, a lot was un-known about them but the powers they used were similar to the Ill’guard who served the dark lord. They were incredibly powerful; and Filendie had fought and fled from a few of them, but secretly Filendie himself was scared of the dark ones reign over the world along with everyone else in the world, this thing alone showed he had some humanity, at least a little. Filendie was one of the few that didn’t serve him however but the use of corrupted magic’s had drained away at his humanity and soul.
The woman’s smirk stayed in his mind, as she stared at him he realised he had his answers. Tapping the deck with his staff the storm moved away slowly but surly. He looked at the woman, his face a picture of anger “You haven’t met a dark mage before have you?” He said, not waiting for an answer “You have no idea what a dark mage can do if you can be so confident to talk back, especially one who can destroy this ship from under you without any effort” He snapped. Taking two long strides he was right in front of her, he then knelt down and grabbed her by the neck. Instead of moving closer he pulled her across the deck a short ways without effort.
He came face to face, eye to eye with her, inches away from there faces touching. Filendie touched his inner magic and used a small spell called Vampire Touch he had picked up a few years back which drained stamina from the person making them feel tired and sluggish as well as sucking there very life force. He only used it for a short time but this would leave her with one hell of a headache. As he cast the spell his eyes clouded over to blackness, his face terrifyingly emotionless. As he sucked her stamina it added to his and he was able to stand up and lift her from the ground. His had was icy cold from the magic’s running through it “Don’t mess with me elf, it will be the last thing you do... You have been warned” He then returned her feet to the deck and his eyes turned back to normal.
He then suddenly changed from the cold hearted fiend into a normal person as his features softened “Well I’ve enjoyed our little chat, let’s do it again sometime yes?” He said leaving an unanswered question and walked away from her, joining the other people who were now starting to come up on deck, complaining about the weird changes in the weather.

{name:Idril#|#picture:7}Idril had never been this mad at anyone before, but he was doing a great job. “You haven’t met a dark mage before have you?” He said, not waiting for an answer “You have no idea what a dark mage can do if you can be so confident to talk back, especially one who can destroy this ship from under you without any effort” He snapped.[/b] Though another small smile appeared on her face. Soon though he grabbed her around her neck and she put her hands on his arm. But he felt so cold to her, almost like he shouldn't even be alive. "No I've never met a dark mage." She said chokeing a little bit. As Idril just looked at him she saw his eyes go black. Then she started to feel weak, and even dizzy.
Wh..what is he doing to me.. She thought then she dropped to the floor feeling bad.
“Don’t mess with me elf, it will be the last thing you do... You have been warned” He then returned her feet to the deck and his eyes turned back to normal.
He then suddenly changed from the cold hearted fiend into a normal person as his features softened “Well I’ve enjoyed our little chat, let’s do it again sometime yes?”[/b] Then she started to slowly get up to her feet. And soon she was walking towards him. "Hey! You think i'm scared of you just because you can control dark magic!? If I was supposed to be scared of dying then I wouldn't be who I am. I'm not scared of you nor will I ever fear you. So bring your worst if I die..then so be it." She said. "Your only one mage..and i'm pretty sure that they're are more powerful mages then you! Your probley the weakest of them all." Idril said with a laugh.
