{name:Filendie Garren#|#picture:2}Soon the woman was behind him again "Hey! You think I’m scared of you just because you can control dark magic!? If I was supposed to be scared of dying then I wouldn't be who I am. I'm not scared of you nor will I ever fear you. So bring your worst if I die… then so be it."[/b] She said to him out in the open. A man over heard what she said to him and his face drained of blood with his mouth hanging open. He stumbled a few steps back and ran through the door into the hold screaming.
"Your only one mage..and i'm pretty sure that they're are more powerful mages then you! Your probley the weakest of them all."[/b] She said and another person ran screaming. Filendie put an iron gripped hand on her shoulder and pushed her backwards, leading her to where they were before so they could talk.
“Death? Who said anything about that, after-all there are things so much worse than death. And they are within my power to do.” He said, even though this woman looked as if she wanted to kill him on the spot, he was starting to like her. It was a long time since he had found someone who wasn’t afraid of him.
“Fine elf, I’ll level with you. I’m not going to kill you, I never did…” He admitted “… It’s been a long time since someone wasn’t afraid of me; in fact it’s never happened. They either lunged themselves at me to strike me down before I uttered a word or ran screaming” He said with a heavy sigh “And for the record, if you can find a mage more powerful than me, I’ll grovel at your feet. I am the most powerful, I am power…” He said almost mournfully “… I have mastered magic’s that other mages have written down as fiction, things that the Ill’guard themselves can only wield.” He said looking at his staff “Ever spell, ever power level I have reached and surpassed.”
“This staff is my most valuable possession, my burden and my curse. If I threw it overboard I would dive in after it. We are… connected” He said, rubbing the cold metal with his thumb as he would a lovers hand again. “It’s stripped me of my humanity, but I guess this is my fault, even if it was destroyed I would have my inner dark magic, and my eyes would still be a reminder”

{name:Idril#|#picture:7}Idril saw that some of the people looked like they wanted to jump over board after what she had said. It was weird then she felt him push her back. "Don't touch me." She said coldly. “Death? Who said anything about that, after-all there are things so much worse than death. And they are within my power to do.”[/i] "Yeah like living forever alone.." She whispeared then looked back at him.
I am the most powerful, I am power…” He said almost mournfully “… I have mastered magic’s that other mages have written down as fiction, things that the Ill’guard themselves can only wield.” He said looking at his staff “Ever spell, ever power level I have reached and surpassed.”[/i]
"Oh your the most powerful..could of fooled me." She said then leaning on the railing wrapping herself in her cloak. Her clothes were soak and wet. And the weather outside was very cold making her shiver a bit. Though she was still very upset with this man and didn't know if he could ever be trusted.
“This staff is my most valuable possession, my burden and my curse. If I threw it overboard I would dive in after it. We are… connected” He said, rubbing the cold metal with his thumb as he would a lovers hand again. “It’s stripped me of my humanity, but I guess this is my fault, even if it was destroyed I would have my inner dark magic, and my eyes would still be a reminder”[/i] As soon as she heard that her soft side came out. Hearing that and seeing him just hold on tightly to that staff. It made her think of what people give up just to have power. "Why did you choose to be a dark mage? Why live a life like this all the time?" She asked him with a semi sad sigh.

{name:Filendie Garren#|#picture:2}Her statement about his power level was predictable, she was being very defensive but who could blame her. But soon she softened "Why did you choose to be a dark mage? Why live a life like this all the time?"[/b] She said and took him totally off guard with the question. He had thought about it himself and he himself had wondered if it was worth it.
“It was at first, I had power and my humanity. I had a lover and a family, I had everything” Then his face turned again, not a crazed expression but an angry one found his features “and it was slowly taken away because I refused to let go” He said, not saying exactly what he didn’t let go of, but he had an idea she knew what he meant by the way he was looking at his staff, as if gazing at the source of his problems but at the same time looking at his salvation.
“I’m strong enough to be a thorn in the dark ones side, which was my goal, so I could defend my family and close ones. But even they faded away until there was just me and this… power that I can do anything with… maybe… maybe once he has gone then dark magic won’t exist.” He said, looking right the elf “It’s a possibility right?” He said more as a question “I mean people relate this magic to be something of the dark ones making, maybe it really is”
He then looked at her again “I know your not scared, but when was the last time you saw someone manipulate the weather with an uttered word. I have to say the power is worth it… it is very useful… I can change the weather as you have seen, make myself completely invincible, manipulate the environment around me, predict an attack before someone even thinks it, create storms, I could even play god and cause seven plagues or start natural disasters…” He said, almost smiling to himself"there are no others that can do most of these things" He said more seriously “… I could take a trip back in time or just stop it all together… but that gives me one hell of a headache” He said with a chuckle “Once I went back and watched myself before I was a dark mage… why did I accept that book. I felt like walking up to myself and taking it, then I wouldn’t have these powers, I never would have but I wouldn’t let myself” He said then realise how much he had told her “But the flying is fun” He said, smiling again. His smile looked almost un-natural on his face but it went well with his smooth skin and feminine features “I do this to survive, if I want to strike down the dark one, I could use his own power against him. To me, ridding the world of him is worth anything”

{name:Rayce#|#picture:5}Rayce ended up walking along the corridors. This ship intrigued her. It was a beauty, this ship. Earlier, she had retired to her room, and changed her outfit. It was too frivolous for her own taste, even she had to admit it. She much prefered... stuff like what she was wearing now. Black. Black, and more black. Sure, call her single-minded but hey ... you weren't her.
She stumbled across two people talking. One whom she recognized as her trainer, whom she inclined her head to show that she'd seen him. The other was ... unfamilar. She was an Elf - her pointed ears showed that off well enough. But weren't Elves ... evil or something?
"Am I interrupting something, Filendie?" she asked, her gaze kept on the Elf, "And who's your friend, I presume?"

{name:Filendie Garren#|#picture:2}Filendie dipped his head away from there conversation when a voice cropped up beside them "Am I interrupting something, Filendie?"[/b] Rayce said staring at Idril without making a move to hide it "And who's your friend, I presume?"[/b] She continued “Rayce…” He said sharply, trying to get her to take her gaze from the elf “Don’t be rude, she isn’t an Ill’Guard” He said, referring to her staring “If you need to know something then I will tell you, but how many times do I need to tell you, you are my student not a friend and you are not to approach me in a confined location…” He said coldly. Once he said this he quickly softened his features, he liked this girl and didn’t want her to become a friend encase she did something stupid to protect him, she was very head strong and although she knew he could handle himself she tried all the same.
With his now softened tone he replaced the snap of words with something gentler “… If I am discovered then I want you safe from harm, but if you must know. This is Idril… Idril this is Rayce my student, but she doesn’t learn… what I practice” The two of them were travelling together; Filendie had taken her on a field-trip of sorts to show her more of the world.

She inclined her head, not allowing his sharp tone to affect her anyhow. Immunity... immunity... she thought inwardly, and she forced herself to smile, although her eyes flashed a little steely.
"Sorry," she said to the Elf, "It's just that I've heard so much stuff about elves and ... well, whatever they did. But if Filendie says you are a friend, then friend you are."
She sat down, and stared at Filendie in his eyes.
"You know how I am. I'll be by your side even if it takes a thousand soldiers to bring me down. And there's nothing you can do, even if you are my teacher..."
She smiled at him, and then turned to the elf.
"So, tell me about yourself. Apparently I missed out most of this conversation," she said, grinning widely.

{name:Idril#|#picture:7}Idril didn't understand these humans. Give up everything they love, everything they have ever cared about for power. It was weird she knew she wouldn't do that for anything. Not if it were to cost her love or anything else. Then she looked up at him. "I don't understand you..it's weird." She shook her head then looked out into the ocean.
"Give up everything for something stupid." She whispeared. Her long hair blowing in her face as the wind picked up again. It broke her heart to find these things out. Yes she was a rouge, and yes she knew people would never care about her like everyone else. But she heard it from others and knew she could never give it up.
Then she heard a woman's voice. Her head spun around then listened to them talk to each other. They were traveling together it seemed like. "Nice to meet you." She said closing her eyes then tipped her head. Then she heard Rayce talking to Filendie talking, and it seemed that she was a little close. Or maybe it was just Idril hoping something good for this man.
"Well i'm Idril i'm an elf and i'm a loner that's about it. I just travel where ever I go. Alone most likely for the rest of my life. Outcast from the world, and people hating me..but that's just about it.." Idril said then smiled. Then she looked back out into the ocean. Tapping her nails the the railing. "So how long have you two been traveling together?" She asked still not looking back at them. But for some reason she felt empty inside.
Maybe it was envy for not having someone to travel with. Or Filendie's story about losing everything. Whatever it was she felt just empty inside just a great sadness, but she was trying to shake it off.

{name:Filendie Garren#|#picture:2}The elf’s words touched him more than he thought they would. In a way it was like listening to his own life, his own story. He knew how lonely things got but no matter how bad he felt it wouldn’t change. He couldn’t tell people who he really was, what he did and the reasons for it. But this woman was a different race, surrounded by people that were nothing like her and would probably not except her.
There were many places Filendie couldn’t even go, he had misused his magic and ended up being attacked by whole villages. Mages of light could smell his taint from miles away and because of this he was normally turned away before he could even get into a village; that is if there was a mage of light in those villages.
“Not that long” He said bluntly, wrapping his coat around himself tighter “She is yet to learn a lot of things…” He continued “… It is the first time I have needed to teach a none magic user so it’s a basis of trial and error” He finished, pushing away from the rail “I will leave you two to converse, be careful on what you choose to divulge” He told his student and headed below deck.

{name:Idril#|#picture:7}Idril looked at him after she had told them about her life. The wind just blew for a moment. He looked a bit weird, as if something had really effected him. Though she doubted if it was anything she had said.
“Not that long” He said bluntly, wrapping his coat around himself tighter “She is yet to learn a lot of things…” He continued “… It is the first time I have needed to teach a none magic user so it’s a basis of trial and error” He finished, pushing away from the rail “I will leave you two to converse, be careful on what you choose to divulge” He told his student and headed below deck.[/b]
Her eyes followed him as he left them alone. "He seems so sad.." She whispeared then looked at Rayce. "How long have you two known each other? I mean to be traveling around with each other you must have known each other for a while unless it was just at the spur of the moment thing." Idril said with a smile then lifted herself up onto the railing. The wind still blowing very hard. Her emptyness still remained though. It was like a huge pain in her heart.
And even though she had that pain Idril was keeping perfect balance on this railing though it was wet. "So have you been enjoying your voyage with him so far?" She asked. She was very curious about people traveling together. Idril always wondered if they always got along with each other. Or if they just wanted to give up. Her long soft white hair blew behind her as she started to lean backwards a bit.

"Yeah, he does," observed Rayce, "No idea why though. And as for how long we have known each other... I'd say around a few months I guess. After all, I am his student."
Rayce sighed. She'd never really got to talk to Filendie much... mostly it was just training, and casual small talk. She'd never really bothered to delve deeper; she was unsure if she was allowed to. After all, some people didn't like being interrogated.
"So have you been enjoying your voyage with him so far?"
"It's alright," she said breezily and almost nonchalantly, "As long as I don't bother him, it's fine I guess."

{name:Idril#|#picture:7}Idril looked at Rayce. It seemed that they really didn't know each other. In her mind she thought that people traveling together would know more about each other. It puzzeled her a bit. She would go and ask about the past or maybe it was just her, but she would be able to get to know the person.
"No idea why though. And as for how long we have known each other... I'd say around a few months I guess. After all, I am his student."[/b]
"Wow so you've known him for a few months..nice." She said spinning around on the railing. For a moment though it seemed that she had one foot slip, but she was still in balance. Her eyes were now closed just listening to the sounds around her. Sometimes Rayce's voice or just the ocean or the wind. Then she turned her head to Rayce.
"It's alright," she said breezily and almost nonchalantly, "As long as I don't bother him, it's fine I guess."[/b]
"Hmmm.." She said softly then jumping off the railing back on deck. Many people now were looking at her, but she didn't mind. "I see..I only ask because i'm always curious about humans traveling. It seems you don't really get to know each other. Your like complete strangers. I even though not traveling with you seems to be finding more and more about him..hmmm." Idril was so curious still then she leaned against the railing.
Idril just kept thinking about Filendie. He seemed so kind, but at the same time so empty. No real feeling for many people. Her eyes then looked down to the ground. A few rain drops falling. "I would try to find someone to convine in..I would go nuts..maybe that's why i'm the why I am." Soon though she got lost in her own thoughts. Still thinking about Filendie and why he did everything.
Though she was getting a bit consumed about it. Then she smiled a bit and pardoned herself. Idril then went below deck looking for Filendie. "Now where could he be?" She whispeared a bit then her eyes just looked about. Her feet softly touching the ground as she walked. I wonder...

{name:Filendie Garren#|#picture:2}Filendie watched as the Elvin walked below deck and gently brush past him. He had a feeling she would follow him; he had felt very suddenly leaving many questions in her head which was the way he chose to do things. His eyes followed her until she turned out of sight, only then did he step forwards and let the cover of dark magic fall to make him visible again. He went back up on deck and set his eyes back on his student, shifting his course he walked towards her and lead her gently by her shoulder to a close by rail.
“Watch yourself with her my dear. The Elvin are cunning and have many unworldly natural talents that I have yet to discover” He told her while staring absently out into the sea. He shifted his weight on one foot to face her and stare right at her “Find her, talk to her and learn from the experience, it is good to help train you for things that are other than human.” He said to her “And Rayce… Be careful” He finished with a hand gesture to finish there conversation and turned his back to her. Those words coming from his mind seemed foreign, like they were never meant to pass his lips.
What’s wrong with me He thought. First making a… Friend, it that’s what you can call it, with an Elvin of all people Am I going soft he thought again, then wondered if that was the real case, it is was then he had more humanity than he thought.

{name:Rayce#|#picture:5}"I would try to find someone to convine in..I would go nuts..maybe that's why i'm the why I am."
Rayce nodded almost absent-mindedly. What exactly was her relationship with her teacher? Definitely nothing leaning towards romance. She didn't live in such soap operas. She'd never remember how it would feel to love again, although she had experienced it. As of now, love was the last thing on her mind.
She watched as she saw Idril walk away, probably to look for Filendie. She merely stayed a while where she was, and then turned her head to face her teacher when she felt him touch her by the shoulder, leading her away.
“Watch yourself with her my dear. The Elvin are cunning and have many unworldly natural talents that I have yet to discover. Find her, talk to her and learn from the experience, it is good to help train you for things that are other than human. And Rayce… Be careful”
"Yes'sir," she imitated a pirates' drawl, before turning away. Now to find that elf...

{name:Idril#|#picture:7}Idril couldn't find Filendie so she started to come up towards the deck again. She stopped the heard a few last words from Fildendie. She slipped away then followed him then hiding from Rayce then standing next to him. "Trying to find out more information on me huh?" She asked smiling. "I had a feeling you were also trying to avoid me. That's not very nice now is it?" Idril faced him a bit. "You have seemed to peak my curiousity very badly." She said then sitting on the railing.
"Why would someone like you. Who had everything in the world. Happiness, family and everything else, but you gave it up for power.." Her voice went soft. "Why? Why would you give something up like this? I mean if I were me I would of kept everything. I wish I had something like that. You humans have little idea of how hard it can be without someone." She said then looking away.
Then she didn't say anything at all to him. The wind just blew her hair in front of her. Part of her thought he was stupid for giving everything up. She would give anything to have something like that. Then she shook her head and laugh. Foolish humans... She thought then she laughed more.

{name:Filendie Garren#|#picture:2}"Trying to find out more information on me huh?" a voice suddenly appeared beside him, he gave the tiniest flinch as his surprise seeped out Damn the Elvin He thought. There bodies were so light, there footsteps so soft that it was hard to hear them most of the time. "I had a feeling you were also trying to avoid me. That's not very nice now is it?"[/b] She said and shifted towards him slightly. "You have seemed to peak my curiosity very badly."[/i] She said and hopped up onto the rail with perfect balance.
His head turned slightly away from her so she was staring at the side of his face, with that simple gesture he remained silent "Why would someone like you. Who had everything in the world. Happiness, family and everything else, but you gave it up for power...” She continued to question him. His face remained rock solid in an unreadable gesture as he continued to stare blankly away from her.
"Why? Why would you give something up like this? I mean if I were you I would of kept everything. I wish I had something like that. You humans have little idea of how hard it can be without someone." She said and started to laugh. She was like a child who had never been in the real world. To her race indeed she was a child but she could very well be five times older than he was.
“You are not me…” His lips finally parted, his eyes lowered to block out most of the breeze “… If you used one spell… Just one. Then you would become the Dark Arts’ slave just like I have” He spat, not wanting to justify himself anymore than he already had “The Dark Arts are Forbidden and feared for a reason, once used there is no turning back no matter what you think… In my youth this fact eluded me and I was drawn in never to see the world the same way again.” He said and turned his back fully to Idril “It ebbs away at your soul, your heart, your mind… everything that makes you human and replaces it with darkness” He told her, this is exactly what had happened to him “But I can fight it, I have a big understanding of this curse and I will control it… I refuse to be controlled. I have gone so deep yet I still have humanity to not kill another human being… For now”
His head dipped but straight away erected itself to its normal position. Not moving his feet he turned to look right at her “This is all I need now…” He said gesturing to his staff “… And you had better remember who you are talking to, after all you’re no human are you? Slayer of the Nyphai” He said in his smooth deep voice, finishing with a devilish smile he hardly ever used. With that he finally retired below deck and began to go back to his Cabin.
