Really big sigs make the boards harder to browse for people with slow modems as they have to wait for all those images to load not to mention you have to scroll more to read all the posts. To ensure that the board always loads quickly for everyone and looks its best, we have certain guidelines of what you can and cannot put in your sig. This Guide explains them as well as offer some points on how to create your sig and make it better.
Sig Rules
• Your total sig must not be bigger than 500 pixels wide by 150 pixels high. (this is about 8 lines of normal text tall).
•One line of text (or blank space) at the default sig size is about 10 pixels tall.
•Only 1 animated banner or 5 animated smilies allowed per sig.
•No spoilers in sigs.
•No Avatars in sigs.
•Mods/Admins will edit your sig and re-arrange or remove anything in violation without notice.
How To's
•To edit your sig, go to Edit Sig
•To add an image, use this code [*img]image url here[/img]
•To add a link, use this code [*url]link url here
•To add an image that is also a link, use this code [*url=url •here][*img]image url here[/img]
Do ...
•Use small size fonts - they looks best and allows you to have more without going over the limit. (This is the default so unless you want to make your font bigger on your sig, you do not need to include the vb-code for this).
•Use the default font color - it will ensure that your sig looks good in all schemes.
•Arrange your text in an organized and readable way - it makes your sig more interesting.
•Make all your banners the same size and arrange them next to each other - it gives your sig an organized and appealing look.
•Add borders to your banners - it makes your banners stand out more and your sig looks much more organized.
•Use a good balance of text and images to make your sig stand out.
Don't ...
•add banners taller than 150 pixels.
•add images on top of each other whose combined height exceeds 150 - this means you cannot have 2 banners 80 pixels tall on top of each other.
•add images next to each other whose combined width exceed 500 - it will make the board look distorted in lower resolutions.
•add text if your images already add up to the limit.
If you still have questions about any of this, feel free to post in the help forum. Thank you for your co-operation in ensuring the board keeps running smoothly, looking great and easy to use
